Florian Plumeyer is a screenwriter of award-winning films. His feature debut, the tragicomedy "Everybody Wants to Be Loved" about a single eventful day in the life of a stressed-out psychotherapist, was awarded the prize for Best Screenplay at the 2022 Munich Film Festival. The film was invited to outstanding international festivals where it won numerous awards, twelve times for best film alone and four prizes for lead actress Anne Ratte-Polle. In Germany, the film was released in theaters in March 2023.
The arthouse thriller "Till the End of the Night", a collaboration with director Christoph Hochhäusler, was invited to the competition of the 73rd Berlinale, where it won the Silver Bear for "Best Performance in a Supporting Role" for Thea Ehre. The film opened in German theaters in June 2023. Currently still in post-production is his third feature film "Ungeduld des Herzens" (Beware of Pity) based on the novel by Stefan Zweig. Florian also works for various serial formats for tv productions and steaming services.
Before his studies at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB), Florian studied theater and media sciences in Erlangen and Athens. He is also a graduate of the Master's program in "Ethics of Text Cultures". In 2012/2013 he was a scholarship holder of the Nuremberg Authors' Scholarship.
Florian is a member of the German Screenwriters Association (DDV). He lives in Berlin.
